BW_Dining

Brightwater Landing drug and alcohol rehab offers the best of both worlds – the comforts of an upscale addiction and mental health treatment center within an inviting, natural setting. Clients enjoy a variety of amenities in a gated, private, mountainside location where all of their needs are attended to so that they can focus on recovery.

Clinical Experts

Our program is designed by a distinguished team of clinicians and our acclaimed consultant Robert Weiss, LCSW, CSAT-S, author, clinician and expert in the areas of social learning, disordered adult intimacy and human sexuality. Our treatment team includes a physician, a psychiatrist, master’s-level clinicians and nurses. Our staff is specially trained in addiction recovery, trauma, and adventure-based and experiential therapies.  Speak Confidentially with a Brightwater Landing Recovery Advisor at 844-876-8685.

Trauma-Informed Care

We explore the complex factors that contribute to addiction, addressing underlying issues like trauma so clients can heal wholly, move beyond pain, and live a healthy and fulfilling life. Our treatment is trauma-informed and we draw upon therapies shown to help with the effects of trauma such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Clients are empowered to loosen the hold past experiences may have on them within a safe, accepting space.

Experiential, Adventure-Based Therapies

A healthy lifestyle doesn’t come from just learning about recovery concepts in a room. In addition to traditional, process-oriented approaches, we provide opportunities for clients to understand and feel therapeutic concepts in their bodies, minds and spirits. Whether it’s walking meditation along the Mason-Dixon line, therapeutic archery or climbing 30 feet in the air on the ropes course, we help clients experience recovery concepts so they stick. A Natural Haven

Clients retreat to a beautiful, inspiring, natural haven where they reconnect with their authentic selves. A breathtaking backdrop of scenic woods, rolling hills, a bustling river and vibrant colors provide limitless opportunities for self-reflection and a sense of being part of something bigger. We draw upon our restorative natural setting as an integral part of the treatment experience, often incorporating nature as a metaphor for life’s challenges.

A Safe, Supportive Community

Addiction thrives in isolation. At Brightwater Landing drug rehab we base our approach on the social model. This helps clients get outside of their heads and connect with other people, nature and a greater purpose. Our treatment community is made up of small, close-knit groups that promote personal and social responsibility. Clients are empowered by encouragement and validation from others in treatment, and give and receive open and honest feedback. These shared experiences in our safe, supportive environment provide clients valuable communication and relationship-building opportunities.  Speak Confidentially with a Brightwater Landing Recovery Advisor at 844-876-8685.

Gender-Separate Treatment

Residences and treatment (except for 12-step and educational groups) are gender-separate. This helps clients feel safe sharing about difficult experiences and feelings. A gender-separate environment helps alleviate distractions and inhibitions the opposite gender can sometimes bring. We emphasize the importance of same-gender fellowship, which can be healthier than leaning on the opposite sex for support in early recovery.

A Focus on Family

Family is an important part of treatment at Brightwater Landing drug rehab. We work with clients individually to explore family issues and also work with family members in therapy as needed. Clients participate in family calls throughout treatment as clinically appropriate.

Exceptional One-On-One Care

At Brightwater Landing drug and alcohol rehab, each client receives two individual therapy sessions per week. We keep our client population small – typically between 20 and 25 people. This ensures that we can tailor each client’s treatment experience to their specific needs and issues.

 A Healthy Lifestyle

We promote physical activity and engaging sober activities as key components of a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Clients participate in recovery-enhancing practices and physical fitness such as workouts at our onsite gym, hikes in the woods or games on our tennis or basketball courts. Food is prepared by a professional chef and is both delicious and well-balanced, helping clients begin developing healthy eating habits. We encourage clients to explore fun, positive activities and lifestyle changes they can continue when they return home.

Real-World Recovery Skills

We help clients learn that sobriety can be fun. We typically take clients offsite on weekends for supervised activities. Sometimes we’ll go to the movies, mall, indoor trampoline park or AA picnic or play laser tag. Clients may visit a salon for manicures and pedicures. For many clients, it’s been a long time since they’ve participated in everyday activities while sober. If they feel triggered or uneasy, they are able to come back to a safe environment where we discuss the experience and ways to handle triggers going forward.

Support From Others in Recovery

We have passionate alumni who remain active in the Brightwater Landing treatment community. Our alumni and current clients gather every month for a meeting. This gives clients the opportunity to witness success stories in recovery and hear about and prepare for challenges they may face after treatment. Our alumni meeting also helps client develop a network of peers in recovery.

12-Step and 12-Step Alternatives

We take a 12-step, abstinence-based approach to recovery, but we also offer 12-step alternatives such as Refuge Recovery for clients who do not relate to the 12 steps. Refuge Recovery is a nontheistic, Buddhist approach to recovery that provides systematic practices and processes to help people move beyond the suffering caused by the cravings of addictions. Compassion and meditation are key components of Recovery Refuge. Both 12-step and 12-step alternative support groups are offered onsite.  Speak Confidentially with a Brightwater Landing Recovery Advisor at 844-876-8685.

Continuing Care

We provide aftercare planning coordinated by our primary therapists. Aftercare includes follow-up calls and connections to support resources like clinicians and recovery groups.

The World Now Has 1 Billion Smokers

A new study has revealed that the most common addiction worldwide is smoking, with 22.5% of all adults being regular smokers. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), cigarette smoking causes about one in five deaths in the U.S., accounting for over 480,000 deaths per year. The study suggests that reducing the numbers of people who smoke should be the biggest priority when it comes to minimizing the harm caused by addiction, but the research also addresses the other most common drugs around the world, with alcohol and marijuana being the two most commonly abused substances besides nicotine.
