Addiction Treatment

At Brightwater Landing, we treat addiction using traditional, holistic, experiential and adventure-based approaches. Trauma-informed care is an important component of our program, as we identify and treat both the symptoms and the underlying emotional, behavioral and social factors that contribute to substance abuse. Our specialized master’s-level clinicians ensure that any co-occurring mental health disorders are identified and treated along with addiction. Speak Confidentially with a Brightwater Landing Recovery Advisor at 844-876-8685.

Following a thorough biopsychosocial assessment, we work with clients to craft a treatment plan that allows them to engage in an array of therapeutic offerings to determine what most supports their recovery. Treatment is tailored to each client’s individual background, issues and interests and may include:

  • Several primary process-oriented, educational and experiential group therapy sessions each week
  • Traditional as well as experiential and adventure-based therapies such as a ropes course and walking meditation
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Psychiatric services and medication management by a board-certified psychiatrist

In a study published in April 2015 in the journal Drug and Alcohol Dependence, researchers from seven U.S. institutions examined the connection between depression in military veterans, exposure to emotional trauma at any point from childhood to the aftermath of service and the chances of developing serious drug problems.
